Crazy Friendship
Looking Up During Uncertain Times”
A Daily Devotional
Text: Mark 2:2-5 International Children’s Bible
Scripture Reading:
2 So many people gathered to hear him preach that the house was full. There was no place to stand, not even outside the door. Jesus was teaching them. 3 Some people came, bringing a paralyzed man to Jesus. Four of them were carrying the paralyzed man. 4 But they could not get to Jesus because of the crowd. So they went to the roof above Jesus and made a hole in the roof. Then they lowered the mat with the paralyzed man on it. 5 Jesus saw that these men had great faith.
Reflection:
How far would you go to get your friend help from Jesus? Would you be willing to carry a friend up onto a roof, deconstruct a roof of a packed home, and then lower your friend into the home? It sounds crazy! What is the most crazy thing that you have done for a friend? What is the most crazy thing that a friend has done for you?
Prayer:
Hi God! People went through some pretty drastic measures to get their friend to Jesus. Help us all to be loyal friends to those around us. Amen.
