Overwhelming Challenges
Text: Jeremiah 1:6-8 International Children’s Bible (ICB)
Scripture Reading:
6 Then I said, “But Lord God, I don’t know how to speak. I am only a boy.”
7 But the Lord said to me, “Don’t say, ‘I am only a boy.’ You must go everywhere that I send you. You must say everything I tell you to say. 8 Don’t be afraid of anyone, because I am with you. I will protect you,” says the Lord.
Reflection: Jeremiah isn’t the first person in the Bible that God uses that says they aren’t qualified to do the job. Moses said the same thing. Have you ever been faced with challenges that you haven’t felt qualified for? The Bible is full of stories of the underdogs overcoming challenges and accomplishing unimaginable tasks. How do you tackle these types of situations? Do you take overwhelming challenges to God in prayer?
Prayer: Dear God, when we face challenges, please guide us with wisdom and peace. Amen.
