Trust steadily in God, hope unswervingly, love extravagantly.
Text: 1 Corinthians 13:12-13 The Message (MSG)
12 We don’t yet see things clearly. We’re squinting in a fog, peering through a mist. But it won’t be long before the weather clears and the sun shines bright! We’ll see it all then, see it all as clearly as God sees us, knowing him directly just as he knows us!
13 But for right now, until that completeness, we have three things to do to lead us toward that consummation: Trust steadily in God, hope unswervingly, love extravagantly. And the best of the three is love.
Scripture Reading: 1 Corinthians 13:12-13
Reflection: Is the sun shining on you today or do you feel like you are looking through fog? We are all on a journey that we can’t fully control. Verse thirteen reminds us that there are three things that we can do to move us forward “trust steadily in God, hope unswervingly, and love extravagantly.” Let’s focus on what we can do to move forward in a positive direction!
Prayer: Hi God! Thank you for the reminder of what I can do. Please guide me as I work on giving up my control seaking ways and putting my full trust in you. Amen.
Focus for the Day: Trust steadily in God, hope unswervingly, love extravagantly.
