High schoolers are beyond busy with school, sports, clubs, friends, and more. At FCC we want faith to be integrated into young people’s everyday lives, rather than just another to-do on their calendars. We provide a retreat-based curriculum that immerses youth in community and spirituality and allows them to take that experience back into their everyday life. We offer Fall and Spring retreats led by Rev. Darcy Crain-Polly and the dedicated team of youth leaders.
High school discussions take place monthly during the 10 a.m. worship service. Usually this takes place on the second Sunday of the month (exceptions for public school breaks). Check the FCC Calendar to confirm discussion dates.
Our fall retreat is November 12th-13th at Wildwood Ranch in Howell, Michigan. We will depart Ann Arbor (Skyline Visitor Parking Lot) at 2:00 p.m. Saturday and return Sunday by 2:00 p.m. Below are the forms and waivers necessary for participation. Please return these no later than November 7. Cost is $40.
We encourage youth to experience life outside their zip codes and serve others through our summer mission trips. These week-long immersion experiences allow high school students the opportunity to see what life is like for someone living in rural Appalachia, downtown Detroit, Alajuelita, Costa Rica, and other places. This year our youth traveled to the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. Students leave the experience transformed, both emotionally and spiritually… as well as the bonus of being able to hammer a nail and use a drill.
